About the Exhibit - DAUGHTER
Aaron Garber-Maikovska’s show, Daughter, at Massimo De Carlo in London, opened in November 2019.
Garber’s process involves applying homemade oil sticks from raw pigments, wax, and oil, to fluted poly board.
The ground floor of the exhibit consists of 6 large ‘duo works.’
“An allusion to perceived duality, the abstract duos revolve around containing and channelling specific energy. Whether the duality represents the masculine/feminine, inside/outside, light/dark are extraneous; in essence – a synthesis is under way.” (source)
“As the series progresses, the artist explains how the intricacies of daily actions and movements can provide a passageway to us to escape the mundanity of modern living” (source)
