FIAC is one of the grandest art fairs, located in the Grand Palais in Paris, a venue built in the 1890s to house the world expo, is the perfect contrast to the displays of contemporary art
It's always been my dream to go to FIAC since it falls on my birthday every year (plus who doesn't want an excuse to go to Paris), so what better year to go than to celebrate my 30th birthday? After a magical dinner at Café Marly at The Louvre the previous night, we made our way over to the Grand Palais to see the fair.
The Grand Palais is hands down, the most beautiful location for an art fair. It was built in the early 1900's to house the world fair, and is now the annual home for FIAC. For this fair I wasn't blown away by booths but by individual pieces...with the exception of Gavin Brown Enterprise's booth, which featured works by Cy Gavin that I was captivated by.
Now for some of my favorite artworks (it's a LOT, you've been warned)...
Overall Fiac is everything I could have imagined and more. Such amazing art, the most beautiful venue, and to walk out on the streets of Paris at night...so magical.
