Money Shot
Judith Bernstein be 76 years old, but she certainly doesn’t shy away from NSFW paintings and drawings (mostly of men’s anatomical parts). Her subject matter of choice is (allegedly) inspired by men’s bathroom graffiti and the fact that men are dicks.
Bernstein’s exhibition ‘Money Shot,’ which was onview from January 18th - March 3rd, 2018, is solely dedicated to Mr. President, Donald Trump, who in Bernstein's words is, “a fool, a monster, a jester, a sexist, a racist.
Donald Trump is a con artist, using the White House as his own personal cash machine.” - Judith Bernstein
Bernstein's explicit paintings would be captivating on their own, but are elevated to a place of excitability thanks to a black light and fluorescent paint.
Judith Bernstein was born in New Jersey and lives in New York.
Bernstein is represented by Kasmin Gallery in New York and The Box Gallery, and Karma International in Los Angeles. (I believe at one point she was represented by Mary Boone Gallery before Kasmin).
Fun Fact: Judith Bernstein is a founding member of A.I.R - one of the first galleries solely devoted to showing female artists. All 20 founding members make up some of the most famous female artists of today such as Agnes Denes, Dottie Attie and Nancy Spero.
