Friends and Strangers
In ‘Friends and Strangers’ which ran from September 14 - October 21, 2018, Bradford depicts organized crowds, “chunks of humanity” all blending together, the sum greater than its individual parts.
“These paintings do not preach, but offer themselves as residue of psychological introspection” - CANADA Press Release
I can personally identify with the ever inevitable zoning out that occurs when I’m in a crowd of strangers - often being prompted by my external surroundings to question my own internal monologue and the normality of my actions.
If you’re an introvert this exhibition will speak directly to your inner being. If you’re not..you’ll still enjoy the colors, and just be thankful that social tension and awkward interactions aren’t a dominating or relatable part of your everyday life.
